Lower than Low
As a diabetic there are ways that you can tell when you’re low. You might get light headed, irritable, maybe just a little shaky. Those are all good ways to know that your blood sugar is tanking.
Another obvious way is to take your blood sugar and see where you’re at. Today, for example, we were waiting a bit longer for lunch than usual. I was feeling a little bit off before lunch, so before eating I took my sugar (as I usually do lately). I knew right away there was an issue:
Yeah, I guess that’s kind of low. After having a personal pizza for lunch (a Friday treat that has an Atkins-friendly crust) I basically doubled my sugar. Not that that’s really saying much but at least it was over 70. No more shakin’ from me!!!
Speaking of blood sugar, I decided to have a bit of fun tonight for dinner. I bought the family Chick-Fil-A on my way home, including chicken strips, chicken nuggets and waffle fries. It was our first time really having Chick-Fil-A and I’ll be honest… it was damn good! So good that I may have over indulged just a bit. It didn’t help that I neglected to look at the carb count ahead of time.
Screw it, it was still good!!! And my sugar wasn’t really that bad after, either!
